Center for Scientific and Technical Competence 1AK-GROUP
Energy storage technology is a new knowledge-intensive industry, the development of which has become one of the strategic directions for European countries and the closest neighbors of the Republic of Belarus. This is evidenced by the corresponding rule-making activities.
The Russian Federation has developed a «Concept for the development of the market for electricity storage systems in the Russian Federation», the goal of which is to ensure a technological breakthrough in the next 10 years, the development and implementation of industrial energy storage systems. In recent years, research and production clusters have been created in Russia, projects supervised by the government are being implemented, and active work is being carried out in the field of creating energy storage systems.
In 2022, by order of GPO Belenergo, a «Concept for the use of energy storage systems (ESS) based on lithium-ion batteries in the Belarusian energy system» was developed.
1AK-GROUP holding company in the battery market since 1995. During this time, a material and technical base was built, production and engineering knowledge in the field of energy storage and accumulation was accumulated. In 2024, 1AK-GROUP created a center of scientific and technical competencies, uniting manufacturers, developers of chemical power sources and technical solutions for solar energy systems within the Holding. The goal of the STC 1AK-GROUP center is to unite the efforts of market participants along the entire value chain for the development of the knowledge-intensive SNE industry in the Republic of Belarus.
The 1AK-GROUP Scientific and Technical Competence Center unites:
· engineering and technical knowledge of 1AK-GROUP experts in the field of design and production of batteries, energy storage systems
· existing material base of the holding’s battery sector: laboratories, testing areas, etc.
· scientific and technical developments, know-how
· interaction with leading scientific organizations of the country
· participation in the training of engineering personnel for the emerging Belarusian industry of energy storage systems
The STC Center has formulated the priority areas of scientific and technical activities of 1AK-GROUP for the short and medium term:
1. Safety of using lithium-ion batteries and energy storage systems based on them.
2. Creation of a scientific and methodological base to substantiate the technical and economic feasibility of using SNE at industrial enterprises, in the energy sector, housing and communal services and the agricultural sector.
3. Express diagnostics of the condition of cells for the fullest use of their resource and determination of the optimal «tracks» for their disposal.
4. Development of «intelligent» control algorithms for energy storage systems that provide the greatest economic effect for the consumer,
5. Work with promising engineering personnel, students of specialized universities, and applicants for academic degrees.
