Trade association Battery Council International (BCI) is lobbying the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to recognise the benefits of lead batteries and invest in the technology to the same degree it does lithium-ion.
DOE announced the program in January with the goal to create and sustain US global leadership in energy storage utilisation and exports, with a secure domestic manufacturing chain that does not depend on foreign sources of critical materials.

In the framework of social-hygienic monitoring laboratory of the Brest regional Cheios continues sampling and laboratory studies of contaminants in ambient air (lead, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, particulate matter, formaldehyde, carbon monoxide) and chemical substances in the soil (total lead content and the concentration of mobile forms of lead) on the border of the sanitary protection zone of OOO "IPower" and on the border (territory) of nearby settlements.
