The ZUBR battery brand began to develop almost simultaneously with the launch of battery production. The trademark was registered in December 1999, and the first wholesale shipment took place as early as January 2000.

The next stage was the expansion of sales geography. The first international deliveries started in 2007, the brand entered the European market in 2009, and in 2017 it expanded into Africa.

A key milestone was the development of cooperation with automotive manufacturers. Since 2012, ZUBR batteries have been supplied to OEM assembly lines of both domestic and international vehicle manufacturers. Deliveries of heavy-duty batteries for MAZ and MTZ began as early as 2010 and have been carried out on a regular basis since 2012. In 2014, the first shipment of batteries from the Belarusian plant was delivered to the Volkswagen assembly line, and in 2015 the first one million ZUBR batteries were sold to the mass market.

As the brand evolved, its product portfolio expanded. In 2020, it was extended with batteries based on EFB and AGM technologies.

The brand’s development is reflected not only in market performance but also in professional recognition. In 2021, ZUBR was awarded the «People’s Choice Brand» title in the Batteries category. In 2024, it was included in the publication «Brands of Belarus. 100 Successful Brands», and in 2025 it became a лаureate of the «Brand of the Year» award and received a gold medal in the Battery category.

From the early stages, ZUBR has been positioned as a product designed not only for the mass market, but also for reliable performance under real operating conditions — from urban driving to heavy-duty applications.

A Product Built on Technology
The development of ZUBR has always gone hand in hand with advancements in production technologies.
Today, the brand’s batteries are manufactured using different types of plates, allowing the product to be adapted to various operating conditions:
— ExMet (expanded metal technology) — provides a balanced performance and stable operation in the standard segment;
— Punch Frame (stamped grid technology) — ensures higher mechanical strength and longer service life, used in more demanding applications.
This technological foundation enables a product range that covers different performance levels — from standard to enhanced solutions.

Product Range: From Conventional to EFB and AGM
As vehicles have become more complex, the structure of the ZUBR product range has evolved accordingly.
Today, the brand offers solutions for different load requirements:
— Standard / Heavy Duty — for basic operating conditions;
— EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) — for vehicles with increased нагрузкой and Start-Stop systems;
— AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) — for vehicles with high energy demand and cyclic performance requirements.
As a result, ZUBR covers both the mass market and more technologically advanced applications.

In recent years, not only the market but also the product itself has changed. The load on vehicle electrical systems has increased, vehicle architectures have become more complex, and the requirements for battery selection have evolved.
In this context, the design update reflects internal changes within the brand:
