Pinsk is not only the city where the history of the holding company began. It is a city where, over the decades, conditions have been created for the development of enterprises, production and engineering teams, and the implementation of new industrial projects. A significant part of 1AK‑GROUP’s industrial history was shaped here: production facilities were built and expertise accumulated that today extends far beyond Belarus.
The history of 1AK‑GROUP began in Pinsk with the battery business. In 1995, Belinvesttorg LLC started wholesale sales of starter batteries in Belarus and Russia. In 2001, the First Battery Company wholesale and retail network was registered. Between these two dates came an event that defined the group’s future industrial trajectory: in 1999, an agreement was signed to establish a battery plant, and in 2000 the Polesskie Akkumulyatory joint venture opened in Pinsk — the first production facility for starter batteries in modern Belarus.
The first plant began as an assembly operation using imported components. Over the following decades, in-house manufacturing, engineering and technological capabilities were steadily developed around it. Today, Zubr Energy, 1AK‑Plastic, Pinsk Experimental Mechanical Plant, Demetra, Agromashdetal, Belinvesttorg, MetallPromService, Realt-Active, BelPAM, Tech & Business Solutions and other companies of the holding operate in Pinsk.

Over three decades, an interconnected industrial system has taken shape in Pinsk, encompassing battery and component production, mechanical engineering, design engineering, agricultural engineering, logistics, supply, trade and service. Companies with different specializations work in cooperation, while knowledge and expertise remain within this system and continue to develop with it.
Today’s Zubr Energy continues the history of the country’s first battery production facility. One of the largest stages in its development in recent years has been a comprehensive modernization project under the “One District — One Project” initiative. The project investment amounted to BYN 67 million.
In 2023–2025, the company established in-house production of electrode plates using ExMet and Punch technologies, commissioned automated starter-battery assembly lines and new formation and finishing areas, and expanded the production of PzS traction solutions and serial production of AGM batteries.
For the plant, this continues the transition from assembly based on imported components to a more complete production cycle and in-house technological capabilities. Processes that were previously outside the plant have now been mastered, the product range is expanding, and engineering tasks are becoming more complex.
Robotization is a separate area of development. Zubr Energy has its own robotics team responsible for implementing, programming and configuring industrial robots. By 2026, 15 industrial robotic systems had been installed at the plant, equivalent to a robot density of 366 robots per 10,000 employees. A new robotic system serving two finishing lines was fully programmed by the plant’s own specialists. This is how engineering expertise is built: equipment can be purchased, but the ability to implement, configure and improve technologies independently takes years to develop and remains within the company and the city.

Another major project is 1AK‑Plastic LLC, located within the Pinsk Industrial Park. The company produces plastic components for batteries, including monoblocks, covers and other component parts.
Investment in the establishment of the company amounted to BYN 32.9 million. Its design capacity is up to 3 million sets of plastic components per year. Launching in-house production made it possible to raise the localization level of starter batteries in Belarus to 95%.
The company operates 13 robotic systems, equivalent to a robot density of 1,600 robots per 10,000 employees. For the battery division, this is an important link in its own component production cycle; for Pinsk, it is a new high-tech production facility that brings additional expertise and jobs.

In 2026, Pinsk Experimental Mechanical Plant celebrates its 70th anniversary. The company traces its history back to 1956 and has been developing within 1AK‑GROUP since 2012, consistently modernizing its production base and expanding its engineering capabilities.
Today, Pinsk Experimental Mechanical Plant produces pumping and special-purpose equipment and metal structures, and performs casting and machining. A separate area is polymer-coated cases for traction batteries. This is a clear example of intra-group cooperation: the plant’s metalworking and mechanical engineering expertise becomes part of the battery division’s production chain.
The company’s product range includes more than 150 items. At the same time, its machine-tool fleet is being upgraded and new pumping solutions are being developed. For the city, this is an example of industrial continuity: a company with a 70-year history preserves its engineering expertise while taking on new technological challenges.
Products of Pinsk Experimental Mechanical Plant
1AK‑GROUP’s presence in Pinsk extends far beyond the battery division. Demetra develops equipment and engineering solutions for livestock complexes, from solution selection to installation and service. Agromashdetal works in industrial and agro-industrial design, BIM, expert review and design supervision. Belinvesttorg develops the group’s trade and service infrastructure and the First Battery Company network. BelPAM operates in transport and logistics, MetallPromService supplies rolled metal products, and RecyclePRO works with electronic waste and secondary resources. Tech & Business Solutions also operates in Pinsk.
Today, 1AK‑GROUP employs more than 3,000 people, around 1,300 of them at the holding company’s enterprises and businesses in Pinsk. They include engineers, technologists, designers, production managers, and specialists in project, logistics, trade and service functions — a professional environment that supports enterprise development and enables new projects to be launched.
Industrial results are built on more than equipment and production facilities. Their foundation is people and knowledge. Zubr Energy’s in-house robotics team, the engineering and production capabilities of Pinsk Experimental Mechanical Plant, Agromashdetal’s design expertise, and Demetra’s specialists create an environment in which knowledge accumulates within the companies and is carried into new projects. This system also includes 1AK‑LI‑ION, the research and production center for energy storage systems and lithium-ion batteries.
1AK‑GROUP systematically develops engineering and scientific and technical capabilities. In 2024, the Center for Scientific and Technical Competence in electrochemical power sources was established, bringing together manufacturers and developers of energy storage technologies. Modern equipment is complemented by in-house engineering expertise — the ability to design, implement and further develop technologies using the group’s own capabilities.
Today, 1AK‑GROUP is an industrial holding company comprising more than 20 business units and over 3,000 employees. Pinsk remains one of the key locations in this system, but the holding company’s geography and capabilities extend much further.
The battery division brings together enterprises in Pinsk and the Brest District, the 1AK‑SPLAV metallurgical production facility in Beloozersk, and the Li-Ion and energy storage systems research and production business. 1AK‑FREGAT is one of Russia’s largest producers of secondary lead and lead alloys and provides comprehensive recycling of used lead-acid batteries. The 4RM division includes 4RM Systems retail equipment production in Vitebsk, the 4RM Refrigeration business in Stolbtsy, software products, AI and computer vision. The holding company also develops industrial engineering, agricultural equipment, metalworking, logistics, trade and service.
More than 80% of 1AK‑GROUP’s products and solutions are supplied to foreign markets. Modernization, robotization and the implementation of digital systems continue across the group’s enterprises, while in-house engineering teams and scientific and technical developments are being strengthened at the same time. For 1AK‑GROUP, this is a practical Industry 4.0 model: modern production technologies are supported by people with the expertise to implement, configure and improve them.
It is especially symbolic that the decision to award Viktor Matveyevich Lemeshevsky the title of “Honorary Citizen of the City of Pinsk” was made on Pinsk City Day. For 1AK‑GROUP, this is also an opportunity to thank Pinsk for the conditions that, over three decades, have enabled enterprises, production operations and engineering teams to develop here. A significant part of the holding company’s industrial history was shaped in this city, and production facilities were created whose output is now supplied far beyond Belarus — to markets in Europe, Asia and Africa. In this way, Pinsk is represented in 1AK‑GROUP’s international footprint through the technologies, products and expertise created here.
