Seminar on the implementation of ESS was held in Brest

On April 9, 2025, a seminar was held in the Brest Regional Executive Committee dedicated to the implementation of electrical energy storage systems (ESS). The event, organized jointly with the Belarusian State Technological University, brought together the heads and chief engineers of enterprises in the region.

The key participant in the seminar was the multidisciplinary holding 1AK-GROUP Group of Companies. The head of the ESS development project, Kirill Dobrego, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, presented a report on the topic «Methods for calculating the payback period of an electricity storage system at an industrial enterprise».

The methods were developed as part of the research of the 1AK-GROUP Center for Scientific and Technical Competence. The results are based on scientific research and examples of the implementation of ESS projects in Russia and Belarus. During the presentation, the methods for economic justification of the implementation of ESS were considered in detail, which aroused the active interest of the participants.

During the discussion part of the seminar, representatives of enterprises clarified the technical and organizational aspects of using the ESS, emphasizing the potential of such systems to improve energy efficiency.

The organizers of the seminar noted that the Brest region intends to maintain its leading position in the innovative development of industry. The introduction of the SNE is an important step in this direction.

A proposal was also made about the possibility of financing pilot projects through regional innovation funds.

The seminar was held at a high organizational level — all invitees registered, and the information presented caused a lively discussion. However, the participants drew attention to the lack of large-scale implemented examples of the introduction of the ESS in the Republic of Belarus and the need for significant investments to launch such initiatives.

At the end of the event, the Economics Committee of the Regional Executive Committee expressed its readiness to support enterprises in the development and implementation of pilot projects, emphasizing the importance of intersectoral cooperation.
