1AK-GROUP took part in ECOLOGY EXPO 2021

In the period from 3d to 5th of June, Minsk hosts the International Specialized Environmental Exhibition - ECOLOGY EXPO 2021 and the XVI Republican Environmental Forum. 1AK-GROUP took part in the environmental exhibition and became the official partner of the contest of environmental projects BELARUS GREEN AWARDS 2021.

The main topic of «ECOLOGY EXPO 2021» was the issues of the circular economy and its development in Belarus. According to the European Association of Battery Manufacturers, the battery manufacturing process is the «gold standard» in adapting the principles of the circular economy through a continuous recycling process that preserves the amount of materials and resources used in their production.

Currently, the lead battery industry sets standards for other sectors of the economy to follow the principles of a cyclical economy.

Thus, lead batteries illustrate the basic principles of ecodesign:

- The collection level of batteries for recycling is 90%.

- The average lead-acid battery currently contains 70-80% of recyclable materials.

- Almost all of the lead extracted from the lead battery recycling process is used to make new batteries.

Lead-acid batteries «close the loop» more efficiently than any other battery technology. Lead can be recycled indefinitely without loss of quality or productivity. With its internal closed economy the lead battery value chain conserves natural resources and minimizes waste by repeatedly returning lead to the production process.

The high level of collection and processing of lead batteries ensures the raw material safety of countries and regions to meet the increasing demand for lead batteries.
