Specialists of the Multidisciplinary Holding 1AK-GROUP Group of Companies continue to share their experience in environmental safety. Environmental Protection Manager Anna Kalinina published an article "Environmental Protection Training at the Enterprise" in the specialized publication "Ecology at the Enterprise". The material is already available in the latest issue of the magazine (No. 4 2025).
Employee training is a key tool for minimizing environmental risks and complying with legislation. In the article, Anna Kalinina examines in detail the regulatory requirements, organizational nuances and practical aspects of environmental training relevant for Belarusian enterprises. Key provisions in the field of personnel training in environmental management:
1. Legislative requirements
Ecological training is regulated by a number of laws:
• Law «On Environmental Protection»: Advanced training for ecologists — every 2 years, heads of environmental services — every 3 years.
• Law «On Waste Management»: Having specialists trained to work with waste on staff is a mandatory requirement for enterprises.
• EkoNiP 17.08.06-001-2022: Training of those responsible for the operation of gas cleaning units (GPU) with an emphasis on maintenance.
«The flexibility of the legislation allows us to adapt programs to the specifics of the enterprise, but requires a deep understanding of the standards,» emphasizes Anna Kalinina.
2. The procedure for organizing training
• Risk analysis: The program is based on an assessment of the enterprise’s impact on the environment (emissions, waste, ODS).
• Internal instructions: Should include a list of employees to be trained, the frequency of briefings, and reporting forms.
3. Types and forms of training
• Mandatory: Advanced training, initial and refresher briefings.
• Additional: Seminars, webinars, internships to deepen knowledge (for example, on working with ozone-depleting substances).
4. Documentation
• Briefing logs.
• Knowledge test protocols.
• Certificates of advanced training.
5. Knowledge test
• Testing, oral surveys, practical assignments.
• Important! The test results affect the admission of employees to work with sources of environmental risks.
Training programs should be adapted to the profile of the enterprise: for example, for companies with emissions into the atmosphere, the key focus is on training in accordance with the law «On the protection of atmospheric air». Training topics should be related to the most significant environmental risks of your production. It is necessary to check the compliance of internal instructions with the requirements of EcoNiP and updated legislation (2023-2024) at least once a year.
