Directorate Environmental Protection of the Republic of Poland Sent an Official Response on the Results of the Visit IPower

Directorate of environmental protection of the Republic of Poland sent an official letter to the Ministry of nature and environment protection of the Republic of Belarus on visits to the battery plant IPower LLC, located on the territory of FEZ Brest. This letter reflects the position of the Polish side to the documentation of the construction project and visits to the enterprise.

We will remind that visit of delegation of representatives of the Directorate of environmental protection of the Republic of Poland on IPower LLC in the framework of cross-border cooperation, took place on 25 April 2019. During the visit the Polish side was shown the entire premises, both production and administrative surrounding. A group of Polish specialists got acquainted with the established corporate and technical control equipment in addition, representatives of IPower LLC demonstrated water treatment plants and laboratories of the company.

The Director of the plant Sergei Melnykovych introduced  a Polish delegation to the industrial wastewater treatment, emphasizing that in accordance with the project documents and technological schemes, the water in contact with lead, beyond the enterprise does not fall. Water production, which is not in contact with lead, is discharged from the cooling systems and scrubber after cleaning. With regard to rainfall and snowmelt wastewater, in accordance with the project, these waters pass through a treatment system installed sewage treatment plant BelECOline production STS-BELBAUPLAST and device distribution well before entering the sewage treatment plant of FEZ Brest district "Airport".

During the visit, the representatives of the Directorate of environmental protection has reviewed the modified project documentation with changes that are based on passport data of purchased and installed equipment. According to the results of a study tour of the company, Alexander Unkovic, Manager for corporate governance, environmental protection 1ak-group  (PACK management LLC) noted that , IPower taken the highest measures in the field of environmental protection. Despite the fact that the battery plant , IPower LLC sanitary protection zone set in the area of 500 meters, the company took the decision to monitor in a radius of 800 metres.

The Polish side thanked the representatives of IPower LLC and Ministry of nature and environmental protection of the Republic of Belarus for granting of the full information on the progress of the construction of a battery factory and has no comments to make regarding the project. In the framework of cross-border cooperation between the Ministries of the two countries will continue exchange of information on activities of the company and the results of environmental monitoring.
