In 2008 the decision was made to implement the project "Creation of a full cycle of production of storage batteries in the Republic of Belarus". The first step in achieving the objectives was the implementation of the investment project on creation of the smelter. The plant Belinvesttorg-Splav LLC, engaged in the recycling of used batteries and the production of branded lead and alloys began its operations in 2013.

The implementation of the investment project for the construction of a battery plant IPower LLC became a subject of discussion not only within Belarusian society, but also in the circles of the professional community in the countries of the CIS and Europe. The emergence of new production, as the unknown, causes suspicion and fear. In Europe, however, such enterprises produce products for many years and the development of battery industry in the Republic of Belarus is generating interest from the accumulator of the global community.

The state educational INSTITUTION Republican centre of the state ecological examination and improvement of professional skill of executives and experts of Ministry of natural resources issued a formal opinion about ecological expertise on the project Battery plant IPower LLC with its own boiler to natural gas, address: Brest district, of FEZ Brest, Airport region . In the framework of social-hygienic monitoring laboratory of the Brest regional Cheios continues sampling and laboratory studies of contaminants in ambient air (lead, nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, particulate matter, formaldehyde, carbon monoxide) and chemical substances in the soil (total lead content and the concentration of mobile forms of lead) on the border of the sanitary protection zone of OOO "IPower" and on the border (territory) of nearby settlements.

On OOO "IPower" held a meeting with the top management of FEZ "Brest". The participants included 11 companies in various sectors: food, paint, furniture, etc. Director of "IPower" introduced the participants with the production, answered questions about hardware, and also about technologies of battery industry. The administration of FEZ "Brest" residents informed about the ongoing in the SEZ environmental monitoring, and future plans for monitoring the state of the environment.
