Plastic components of the European standard are used in the production of starter batteries for passenger and truck groups. The range includes solutions for L2, L3 and L5 sizes, as well as components for Type B and Type C truck batteries.
The section includes monoblocks, lids, handles, plugs, inserts, vent plug blocks, terminal covers and caps. Components are selected according to a general principle: the case, lid and assembly elements must be compatible with each other and correspond to the battery design.
Passenger-group components are intended for European-format starter batteries. The range includes L2, L3 and L5 types.
These batteries use monoblocks, lids, handles and additional assembly elements. The line includes solutions with the Kamina-type lid as well as versions with an MF maintenance-free lid.
The Kamina-type lid is used in European-standard passenger batteries. The line includes L2, L3 and L5 types.
For type L2, LN2 / LBN2 monoblocks and L2 lid are used.
For type L3, LN3 / LBN3 monoblocks and L3 lid are used.
For type L5, LN5 monoblock and L5 lid are used.
LN and LBN types differ in battery height: LN is the standard version, and LBN is the low-profile version.
Kamina-type components
| Type | Monoblock | Lid | Additional elements |
|---|---|---|---|
| L2 | LN2 / LBN2 | L2 lid | Handle, plug, insert |
| L3 | LN3 / LBN3 | L3 lid | Handle, plug, insert |
| L5 | LN5 | L5 lid | Handle, plug, insert |
The MF lid is used for maintenance-free batteries. The range includes L2 MF, L3 MF and L5 MF types.
The MF design includes a lid, vent plug block cover, vent plug block body, handle and terminal covers. The vent plug block has a labyrinth gas venting system and two flame arresters. When the vent plug block is installed into the lid, a non-detachable snap-fit connection is formed, helping ensure structural sealing and reduce battery maintenance requirements.
MF-type components
| Type | Main components | Design features |
|---|---|---|
| L2 MF | L2 MF lid, L2 vent plug block cover, L2 vent plug block body, L2 MF handle | Labyrinth gas venting, two flame arresters, snap-fit connection |
| L3 MF | L3 MF lid, L3 vent plug block cover, L3 vent plug block body, L3 MF handle | Labyrinth gas venting, two flame arresters, snap-fit connection |
| L5 MF | L5 MF lid, L5 vent plug block cover, L5 vent plug block body, L5 MF handle | Labyrinth gas venting, two flame arresters, snap-fit connection |
Truck-group components are intended for the production of European-standard batteries for commercial, heavy-duty and special-purpose vehicles. The range includes Type B and Type C.
For Type B, a Type B monoblock and Type B lid are used.
For Type C, a Type C monoblock, Type C lid (consisting of Type C lower lid and Type C upper lid) and M27 cap are used.
The truck group is designed for batteries with increased dimensions and weight used in commercial, heavy-duty and special-purpose vehicles. For such batteries, case strength, stable lid fit, resistance to vibration, temperature fluctuations and loads during regular operation are especially important.
Truck-group components
| Type | Main components | Application |
|---|---|---|
| Type B | Type B monoblock, Type B lid | European-standard truck and commercial batteries |
| Type C | Type C monoblock, Type C lid (Type C lower lid and Type C upper lid), M27 cap | European-standard truck and commercial batteries |
Battery lids close the monoblock, participate in sealing the structure, provide gas venting and affect battery operating safety.
The range includes lids for passenger and truck groups, including Kamina and MF solutions, as well as lids for Type B and Type C truck batteries.
For maintenance-free batteries, the vent plug block and gas-venting design are especially important. A labyrinth system, flame arresters and reliable connection of elements help increase battery safety and reduce maintenance requirements.
Main lid groups
| Group | Types | Application |
|---|---|---|
| Kamina | L2, L3, L5 | European-standard passenger batteries |
| MF | L2 MF, L3 MF, L5 MF | Maintenance-free batteries |
| Truck group | Type B, Type C | Truck and commercial batteries |
| JIS | D23, D26, D31 | East Asian-standard batteries |
Small components are used in battery assembly and affect installation convenience, safety and operating properties of the finished product.
This group includes handles, plugs, inserts, vent plug block bodies, vent plug block covers, terminal covers and caps. These elements are selected for a specific case type, lid and battery design; therefore, they must be compatible with the main battery parts.
Main small components
| Element | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Handles | Carrying, installation and battery maintenance |
| Plugs | Closing technological zones and design elements |
| Inserts | Component elements of the lid and case |
| Vent plug block covers | Design element of maintenance-free batteries |
| Vent plug block bodies | Base of the vent plug block for MF and JIS lids |
| Terminal covers | Protection and finishing of the terminal area |
| Caps | Closing and service elements, including M27 for the truck group |
When selecting plastic components, it is important to consider the battery standard, size, lid design, application group and assembly requirements.
Selection criteria for plastic components
| Selection criterion | What to consider |
|---|---|
| Battery standard | European standard or JIS |
| Application group | Passenger, truck, East Asian group |
| Case type | L2, L3, L5, D23, D26, D31, B, C |
| Lid type | Kamina, MF, JIS, truck group |
| Battery design | Serviceable or maintenance-free battery |
| Set composition | Monoblock, lid, handle, vent plug block, caps, terminal covers |
| Assembly requirements | Component compatibility, sealing, installation convenience |
| Operating conditions | Vibration, temperature, contact with electrolyte, industrial load |
Plastic components are selected not as separate parts, but as elements of a single battery design. The monoblock, lid, vent plug block, handle and additional components must match one size, ensure compatibility during assembly and maintain battery sealing in operation.
